A Board Certified Attorney is one that is recognized as a specialist in a given field of law and recognized as a preeminent professional within the legal profession. To become board certified an attorney must have established extensive experience in that field of law, have judicial and peer references for that field of law,  have substantial education in that field of law, and pass a comprehensive examination in that field of law,

Denny Lessman is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and in Criminal Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

There are more than 110,000 attorneys licensed to practice in Texas and only 7150 are Board Certified and nationally, less than 4% of all practicing lawyers are board certified.
